What to Do After Getting Fired: Why It Set Me Free and How You Can Turn Pain into Purpose
Got fired? So did I, and it became the breakthrough I didn’t expect. Here’s how I turned my pain into profit. You can also change your setbacks into a business that aligns with your soul.
I Got Fired—And It Set Me Free
On May 2, 2025, I got fired. I felt a sense of peace instead of panic, which caught me off guard.
When walking in spiritual alignment, what feels like rejection is often divine redirection. I didn’t just lose a job—I lost a role that no longer matches who I am becoming.
I’ve worked hard, shown up, and stayed loyal in places that didn’t see me. I’ve poured into jobs that paid my bills but drained my soul. You could have done the same. You’re reading this after your employer let you go, laid you off, or passed you over—and wondering: what now?
Let me tell you: your pain can give birth to a powerful new purpose.
The Liberation I Didn’t Expect
What felt like a sudden shift was an answered prayer. I’d been wrestling with when to leave. I’d set a quit date for June 28, 2025. But God moved quicker. He knows what I need more than I do. And now, I have the time, space, and sacred permission to build what I was born for.
My creativity is alive, my spirit is on fire, my heart is at peace, and I am ready.
The Day I Got Fired—and What I Felt Instead
Like I said, for months, I knew a change was coming. I’d even set a quit date. But God moved before I did. When I received the notice, I didn’t fall apart. I felt freedom. What looked like a loss to others was a divine upgrade.
My creativity surged, my vision returned, and I could finally breathe. This wasn’t a punishment—it was a holy promotion.
So, instead of spiraling, I surrendered.
I chose to believe that if the door closed, it was because a bigger one was opening, and I decided to build.
Now, I’m turning this moment into momentum—and helping others do the same.

I Wasn’t Fired—I Was Freed
This isn’t about bitterness. It’s about alignment. Man did not fire me. Purpose promoted me. And now, I’m choosing to turn my story into a platform and my gifts into provision.
I’m building a business through my blog, jamielondonclay.com. It includes my music, coaching, and digital offers. This venture aligns with my spiritual values, provides financial freedom, and offers creative fulfillment. I’m proof that you can confidently turn your voice, story, and experiences into income.
This is more than getting fired. It’s a divine rebirth.

How I’m Turning Pain Into Profit (And You Can Too)
1. I Turned My Story Into Strategy
I didn’t wait to feel “ready.” I began sharing my experiences by writing this blog and creating content as I lived through them. Why? Because my story carries healing—and yours does too.
Tip for You: Write about your experience. Blog it. Post it. Record a video. Your challenges can motivate others and attract the right clients, buyers, or supporters.
2. I Packaged What I Know
Instead of applying for new jobs, I applied pressure to my purpose. I began providing one-on-one coaching. I also sold my journals and art. Additionally, I promote affiliate products. All this fits my mission.
Tip for You: What have you created, taught, or lived through that could help someone else? You can sell:
- A digital product (like a guide, workbook, or printable)
- A service (like coaching or creative consulting)
- An affiliate product you love (like Wealthy Affiliate or the Project 369 Journal)
3. I Built My Platform, Not Just My Resume
I treated my blog and brand like my new career. I updated my site. I posted with intention. I used Pinterest and SEO tools like Jaxxy to increase my reach. I became the CEO of my purpose.
Tip for You: Start a blog, YouTube, or podcast where you share your message. Don’t just post to vent—post to serve and sell.
4. I Monetized My Message
I now include links to related offers in everything I do, including journals, blog posts, affirmations, and emails. And I sell with love, not pressure.
Tip for You: Add CTAs (calls to action) to everything you share. “Download this.” “Book a call.” “Buy this bundle.” Get paid while being authentic.
5. I Automated and Multiplied
I set up systems with tools like:
- Wealthy Affiliate University for Digital Product Sales
- Mailchimp for email marketing.
- Canva for beautiful content.
Tip for You: Don’t rely on one post. Repurpose your story into blogs, reels, pins, and emails. One message = multiple income streams.
What to Do After Getting Fired? Start Here:
- Rest. It’s okay to feel it all. Then rise.
- Reflect. Ask: What did this experience teach me? What do I want next?
- Rebuild. Use your gifts, your story, and your vision as bricks. You don’t need permission. Just a plan.

In Closing:
Getting fired didn’t break me. It gave birth to a bolder version of me. And if you’re facing a similar moment, breathe. You are not behind. You are being positioned.
Your purpose is still intact. Your gifts are still valuable. And your next level is calling.

Reading your reflections on turning the experience of being fired into an opportunity for growth resonated deeply with me. I recall a time when I faced a similar situation, and initially, it felt like a personal failure. However, over time, I began to see it as a chance to realign my career with my true passions. I started exploring areas I had previously neglected, which eventually led me to a more fulfilling path. Your emphasis on viewing such setbacks as divine redirection rather than mere rejection is a perspective I wish I had embraced earlier. It’s inspiring to see how you’ve transformed a challenging moment into a platform for empowerment and purpose.
Slavisa, thank you so much for sharing your story with such honesty and grace. Your words moved me—because I see the strength it takes to shift from viewing something as a personal failure to recognizing it as a divine course correction.
That moment when the ground shakes beneath us… it can feel like the end. But what you’ve described so powerfully is the becoming that often follows. Sometimes, it takes a breakdown to reveal the blueprint for something better. And your journey—rediscovering passions you once set aside—is such a beautiful testament to that.
I love what you said about wishing you’d embraced the idea of divine redirection sooner. That perspective shift alone can change everything. Not because it removes the discomfort but because it restores the dignity of our process. You didn’t just survive that experience—you realigned, you reclaimed, and you rose.
Thank you for witnessing my journey and reflecting on your own so openly. It’s these kinds of sacred conversations that remind us that we’re not alone—and that even loss can become a legacy when we let purpose lead.
With deep respect and light,
Jamie London Clay ????

Your words moved me—because I see the strength it takes to shift from viewing something as a personal failure to recognizing it as a divine course correction.
Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey, Jamie. Your story truly resonates with me. I, too, experienced the sting of being fired at a time when I desperately needed stability. It was a moment filled with uncertainty and fear. However, looking back, it was a turning point that led me to a better opportunity—one that aligned more closely with my passions and values.
Your perspective on viewing such setbacks as divine redirections is both comforting and empowering. It reminds me that sometimes, what feels like an end is actually a new beginning orchestrated for our growth.
I’m curious, how did you navigate the initial phase of uncertainty after being let go? Were there specific practices or support systems that helped you stay grounded and focused on your purpose? Additionally, what advice would you give to someone who’s currently facing the aftermath of job loss and struggling to see the silver lining?
Thank you once again for your vulnerability and encouragement. Your words have sparked hope and motivation in my heart.
Alice, thank you so much for your heartfelt message. I could feel the tenderness and truth in your words—and I’m honored that my story resonated with your own.
There’s something sacred about the way you framed it: “a turning point that aligned more closely with my passions and values.” Yes. That’s it. When everything feels like it’s falling apart, the truth is often that something higher is falling into place.
To your beautiful question about navigating that initial phase of uncertainty—whew, I’m still here so. It feels like standing in the middle of a fog with no map, just a whisper from within telling me not to go back to what broke me.
What helped me stay grounded was:
Daily journaling—to get the chaos out of my head and hear what my soul is trying to say
Long walks without my phone—just me, the sky, and my thoughts
Scriptures and affirmations—repeating truth over myself even when my reality hadn’t caught up yet
Surprisingly, honest conversations with people who had been there—not just cheerleaders, but folks who had rebuilt something beautiful afterlife fell apart
For anyone currently in that aftermath, my advice is this:
Please don’t rush to fix it. Let it reveal you. Ask, what part of me have I silenced to survive? That’s usually the part ready to lead your next chapter.
And remember this, beloved: You were not fired from your purpose. You were freed for it.
I’m so glad my words could spark something in you, Alice. Thank you for your vulnerability—it’s a gift.
With bold hope and sacred clarity,
Jamie London Clay ????
