Tired of Believing? How to Rebuild Faith When You’re Emotionally Exhausted
Feeling spiritually drained, I questioned whether things would ever improve. This honest blog looks at what to do when you feel forgotten by God. It also shares how to heal through faith, grief, and rebuilding.

I’m So Tired of Believing
There’s a silence that comes when you’ve prayed the same prayers so many times that they echo back hollow. I know that silence because I’ve lived it.
There was a moment—recently—when I lay in bed with a clear understanding that I had done everything right. I journaled. I affirmed. I blogged. I prayed. I showed up, even when it hurt. I held on because I believed God would turn it around.
But the bills still piled up. The business I poured my heart into didn’t bloom fast enough. The world kept moving. And I felt stuck in a state of sacred exhaustion.
It’s hard to admit as a faith-filled woman, but here it is: Sometimes, I get tired of believing.
When Faith Feels Like a Joke, and Hope Feels Like a Burden
Believing in a breakthrough can feel like emotional labor when nothing changes. Especially when you’ve already survived:
- The death of your husband.
- Raising children to adulthood as a widow.
- Trying to build a business from scratch.
- Holding space for others when your soul is screaming.
You reach a point where you wonder: “What’s the point of believing if nothing shifts?”
But here’s what I had to come back to:
Belief isn’t about pretending everything is fine. Belief is about staying open long enough for something to finally break through.
Faith Isn’t Just What You Say—It’s What You Survive
If you’re here, reading this, feeling depleted, you’re not broken. You’re in the rebuild.
God doesn’t want us to fake joy. He doesn’t need you to act strong when you’re falling apart. He wants your presence, even in the pause.
If you have been saying:
- “I’m tired of hoping.”
- “I feel forgotten.”
- “This breakthrough is taking too long.”
You’re not alone. I was there this week. Not last year. Not metaphorically. This week.
